Title -Azure Databricks Delivery Architect
Locations: Calgary, Vancouver and Edmonton (Hybrid )
Job Summary
We seek a passionate and experienced Managing Solution Architect with a strong background in Azure to lead our cloud initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for developing a comprehensive cloud technology roadmap, driving innovation, and fostering the adoption of next-generation technologies. With a focus on application and data architecture, you will lead the design and development of end-to-end cloud-based solutions while championing a DevOps mindset and culture. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, driven and can handle multiple projects, priorities, and client conversations.
Key Responsibilities:
Implementing data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Databricks.
Optimizing and tuning Spark jobs for performance and scalability.
Collaborating with data scientists and data engineers to deploy and operationalize machine learning models.
Managing and monitoring Azure Databricks clusters for efficient resource utilization.
Implementing security best practices within Azure Databricks environments.
Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Azure Databricks workloads.
Staying informed about updates and new features within the Azure Databricks ecosystem to leverage them effectively in projects.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 10 years of total experience
5 years leading data and AI solution development demonstrating the Azure platform and related tools, technologies
Ideally based in Alberta or willing to relocate to the location.
Previous experience in the energy sector is advantageous.
Strong leadership skills and experience leading data and AI solution development on the Azure platform.
Proficiency in SQL, Python, and other relevant languages, with hands-on experience in creating pipelines, data flows, and complex data transformations using Azure Data Factory and PySpark with Databricks.
Experience with Azure BLOB storage, ADLS Gen 1 and Gen 2, and Azure Data Factory.
Experience working with and leading teams in a fast-paced and agile environment, including on-shore/off-shore teams.
Certifications such as TOGAF 9, IAF level 1, and current Azure certifications are a plus.
